I don't know who decided that carpet in a kitchen was a good idea, but they were sadly mistaken. It is never a good idea. Ever. We've left the flooring until the end, and now you can see the compounding effects of wall plaster, drywall, and fine black dust from the decomposing sawdust that was up in the attic. Both David and I want to scream in horror every time we walk on it. Ew!Ew!EEWWW!

Laundry Room
We spent 3 days putting on the backer board this week, and then tiling. We still have to grout tomorrow, but we're nearing the end. I can't wait to have back the use of the washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove, and fridge. They are all in the front room right now.

The tile looks good. I've always thought that tile is the best way to do a floor; easy to clean and durable.
Did you design, and cut the pieces for the design in the laundry room?
No, we don't have that much patience. We found it on clearance, and it comes in 4 pieces that you just lay next to each other. Much faster!
my favorite part of this was listening in my head while Tracie yells, "ew!"
Beautiful job! Much better than carpet in the kitchen.
