I haven't finished doing all of the thumbnail studies, but I couldn't wait. I really wanted to do a painting of my own, so here is my first one. I took the general layout from a picture I took when we were at the Gooding City of Rocks a couple of weeks ago. I had a lot of fun painting this, and I'm looking forward to doing some more.

Right on, Tracie! That's what art is about anyway. Recreating other people's work is a good way to learn, but it looks like you are a natural!
That is so good that I thought it was a fuzzy-looking photograph at first. Or do I need to get my eyes checked?
Looking good Tracie. I'm glad that you chose rocks as your subject. It's really hard to go wrong when you chose to do a study on such beautiful objects.
Well done! Want to come and paint a mural in the new bedroom?
You are so inspiring.
Wow. That looks awesome!
good work Tracie !
Tim told me he want the next rocks to shoot lazers or possibly magma
Molly, stop putting words in my mouth! I would never say something so sophomoric (obligatory GRE level word to prove to Erik that I don't spend ALL my free time saving the universe)! I distinctly said that I want the next rocks to shoot lasers AND magma!

Awesome job on the painting, Tracie! I'm excited for the progress you are making!
