Someone left some toys on our doorstep the other day from someone who was trying to be kind. We have since decided that this person was just trying to rid themselves of one of the most obnoxious toys ever invented...and of course, Jacob loves it. This toy fits into the category of "Noise Toys"... a category I have banned from our household. These are toys that are sold under the guise of being learning instruments, but what they really are, are instruments of torture for the parent.
They are loud, repetitive, and have the cheesiest, most annoying music and voices anyone could ever dream up. The really evil part is that the music gets stuck in your head, and you are tormented with it even when the child has lost interest.
Toys of this genre "break" or "get lost" after a few days at our house. Mommy just can't stand it....not after 4 years of working in or painfully near the toy department during the Christmas season. It was after hearing Tickle Me Elmo go off for the 47th time one day that I decided to create the Noise Toys ban. And the Dads are just as bad as the kids!
But I digress. So this toy is a magnetic barn that sticks to the fridge, and you can choose halves of animals to attach to it to make cleaver combinations such as....a sheepcow, or a horsepig. Then it sings a congratulatory song at approximately 200 decibels. Maybe we'll have to be generous and pass this little treasure along to some poor child who really needs it.

I'm sure that Audrey want it.....
Or you can donate it to Grandma's toy box.
Our child "Plant" could use some annoying toys. The only stimulation that she gets now is from Katies constant over-watering. I think that being from the Seatle area has lead her to believe that a plant will instantly srivel up and die unless it is placed, and then kept, under a constant stream of running water... Don't tell her I said that.
Don't worry. I know Martell's pitiful views on watering. I hear them often. That however, is not the point. I feel fairly certain that Martell wants that horrid noise device in order to add to the regimen of tickling I go through everyday. He says it's part of training for cage fighting, but I'm beginning to have my doubts. Poor Plant is only a victim to his lies.
Hi, Tracie-it's another Strong cousin..I agree with the "noise toys" policy. We used to have that policy too, but eventually, I'm sorry to say, we all end up with those toys...I have to say, I haven't heard of the strange barn contraption on the fridge. My blog is by invite only, but if you give me your email, I'll invite you. My email is robamyelkins@msn.com. It's fun to catch up with you on your blog!
